Reporting Zotero Problems
Is something in Zotero not working correctly for you? Here's the information you'll need to provide in the Zotero Forums to allow Zotero developers and others to help you most effectively.
** Please provide both #1 and #2 listed below. **
1. Provide a Report ID
Zotero
If you're experiencing a problem, before restarting Zotero, open the Help menu in Zotero and select "Report Errors…".
In the window that pops up, submit the error report, and then copy the numeric Report ID (not the contents of the report) and paste it into your Zotero Forums thread. Error reports aren't reviewed unless referred to in the forums, since the reports generally aren't helpful without context and/or follow-up.
If you're not able to provide a Report ID, be sure to include your operating system and Zotero version in your forum post.
**Alternative:** If you're reporting a reproducible problem with a particular operation, a Debug ID, which logs activity over a specific period of time, may be more useful than a Report ID. It's always fine to provide a Debug ID instead of a Report ID if you think it might be helpful, but you can also wait for a Zotero developer to request one.
Zotero Connector
If you're experiencing a problem with the Zotero Connector, before restarting the browser, open the Zotero Connector preferences:
* **Chrome:** Right-click on the "Save to Zotero" button and click Preferences/Options, or type %%chrome://extensions%% into the address bar, press Enter, click "Details" under Zotero Connector, and then click "Extension options".
* **Safari:** Right-click anywhere on a webpage and select "Zotero Preferences..."
* **Firefox:** Type about:addons into the address bar, press return, and click the “Preferences” button next to the entry for “Zotero Connector”. Click on the "Advanced" Tab.
In the Report Errors section, click "Submit Report". A dialog box should pop up containing a Report ID. Post the Report ID to the Zotero Forums.
If you are unable to provide a Report ID, be sure to include your Zotero version, Zotero Connector version, browser, and operating system in your forum post.
Zotero for iOS
Generating a Report ID manually isn't possible on iOS, but you can provide a Debug ID for a specific action. The app may also automatically provide a Report ID if a crash occurs.
2. Provide Steps to Reproduce
In addition to your Report ID, you'll need to explain exactly what's happening and, ideally, how to consistently reproduce it: if you can, there's a very good chance we can fix it quickly or tell you how to fix it. If you're not able to reproduce the problem, explain what happened and what you were doing when it occurred.
Post a message to the forums with the following info:
- The exact steps you took to reproduce the problem, including specific URLs or files you accessed, any text you entered, buttons or other interface elements that you clicked on, etc.
- What happened, including **exact error messages** or other relevant text that you see on the screen
- What you expected to happen (unless you're reporting a clear error message)
Note that, after a problem occurs, other things in Zotero may temporarily break, so it's important to restart Zotero and try to repeat what you did before it occurred.

Reporting Startup Errors
For serious problems that prevent you from using the reporting wizard --- such as Zotero not opening at all --- we may need more information:
1. First, be sure you've tried restarting your computer. Many startup errors will go away after a computer restart.
2a. If you're able to access the Zotero Help menu, go to "Help -> Debug Output Logging -> Restart with Logged Enabled…".
2b. If you can't access the Help menu, or if the problem doesn't occur during a restart, start Zotero via the command line. The steps for that depend on your platform:
macOS
- Open Terminal via Spotlight or from /Applications/Utilities.
- In the terminal window that opens, paste the following and press Return. /Applications/Zotero.app/Contents/MacOS/zotero -ZoteroDebug
If you can't select the logging window, you can press Cmd-` (backtick, above Tab) to cycle between windows until it's selected.
Windows
- Press Windows-R or search for "run" to open the Run dialog.
- Click Browse and locate the Zotero application directory. This is typically %%"%%C:\Program Files\Zotero\%%"%%.
- Select the %%"%%zotero.exe%%"%% file and click Open.
- The complete path to the %%"%%zotero.exe%%"%% file will be displayed in the text box. Add %%"%% -ZoteroDebug%%"%% to the end, after any closing quotes, with a space before the hyphen. For example: "C:\Program Files\Zotero\zotero.exe" -ZoteroDebug
- Click OK.
Linux
* From a terminal window, run ./zotero -ZoteroDebug within the Zotero program directory.
\\
3a. If you used "Restart with Logging Enabled…", you should be able to return to the Help menu, submit the output, and copy the given Debug ID to your forums post.
3b. If you used the command line, Zotero should start with a separate debug output window. Once it has stopped logging activity, click "Submit…" in the top section, click the clipboard icon to copy the Debug ID to the clipboard, and then paste the Debug ID into your forums post.
Alternative: Error Console
If the above steps don't work, repeat the steps above, try replacing -ZoteroDebug with -jsconsole. Zotero should open with a separate Error Console window showing errors that have occurred. Right-click on any lines with a pink background, select Copy, and paste them into your forums post.
Alternative: Logging to the Terminal
If Zotero is crashing, such that the debug window opened by -ZoteroDebug closes as well, you can log to a terminal window instead. Upload the debug output somewhere and provide a link in your forums thread or email the output to support@zotero.org with a link to your forum thread.Among the most interesting of Plutarch’s religious writings is one entitled On the Delays in the Divine Vengeance. As might be expected from the name, it deals with a problem closely akin to that which ages before had been made the subject of such sublime imagery and such inconclusive reasoning by the author of the Book of Job. What troubled the Hebrew poet was the apparently undeserved suffering of the just. What the Greek moralist feels himself called on to explain is the apparent prosperity and impunity of the wicked. He will not for a moment admit that crime remains unavengeful; his object is to show why the retribution does not follow directly on the deed. And, in order to account for this, he adduces a number of very ingenious reasons. By acting deliberately rather than in blind anger, the gods wish to read us a useful lesson in patience and forbearance. Sometimes their object is to give the sinner an opportunity for repentance and amendment; or else they may be holding him in reserve for the performance of some beneficial work. At other times, their justice is delayed only that it may be manifested by some signal and striking form of retribution. In many cases, the final stroke has been preceded by long years of secret torment; and even where no suffering seems to be inflicted, the pangs of remorse may furnish a sufficient expiation. Or again, vengeance may be reserved for a future generation. Some persons hold that to267 visit the sins of the fathers on the children is unjust, but in this they are profoundly mistaken. Members of the same family and citizens of the same state are connected as parts of one organic whole; sharing in the benefits which accrue from the good deeds of their predecessors, it is right that they should also share in the responsibility for their crimes. Moreover, the posterity of the wicked inherit a sinful disposition which, as the gods can clearly foresee, would betray itself in overt acts were they not cut off in their youth. And it is equally an error to suppose that the original wrongdoers remain unaffected by the retribution which befalls their descendants. On the contrary, they witness it from the next world, where it adds poignancy to their remorse, and entails on them fresh penalties over and above those which they have already been doomed to suffer. This preference of pure abstract speculation to beneficent290 action may be traced to the influence of Aristotle. Some of the most enthusiastic expressions used by Plotinus in speaking of his supreme principle seem to have been suggested by the Metaphysics and the last book of the Nicomachean Ethics. The self-thinking thought of the Stagirite does not, indeed, take the highest rank with him. But it is retained in his system, and is only relegated to a secondary place because, for reasons which we shall explain hereafter, it does not fulfil equally well with Plato’s Idea of Good, the condition of absolute and indivisible unity, without which a first principle could not be conceived by any Greek philosopher. But this apparent return to the standpoint of the Republic really involves a still wider departure from its animating spirit. In other words, Plotinus differs from Aristotle as Aristotle himself had differed from Plato; he shares the same speculative tendency, and carries it to a greater extreme. "Yes?" she answered, and stroked the head of the fawn. She dropped beside him and tried to hold him down. "He did not know I was coming here," she pleaded. "It was a mistake, Jack! Will you wait until I tell you? Will you wait?" She was clinging around his neck and would not be shaken off. He dragged her in the dust, trying to get free himself. Feeling entirely at ease, he climbed into the car, with a copy of the Cincinnati Gazette, which he had bought of a newsboy, lighted his pipe, put on his spectacles, and settled down to a labored, but thorough perusal of the paper, beginning at the head-lines on the upper left-hand corner, and taking in every word, advertisements and all, as systematically as he would weed a garden-bed or milk a cow. The Deacon never did anything slip-shod, especially when he had to pay 10 cents for a copy of the Cincinnati Gazette. He was going to get his full money's worth, and if it was not in the news and editorials, he would take it out of the advertisements and patent medicine testimonials. He was just going through a convincing testimonial to the manifold virtues of Spalding's Prepared Glue, when there was a bump, the sound of coupling, and his car began to move off. Little Sammy Woggles came out presently to get some wood. Shorty called him to him. There was something fascinatingly mysterious in his tones and actions to that youth, who devoured dime novels on the sly. "GREAT Jehosephat, how hungry I am," suddenly ejaculated Shorty, stopping his cheering, as the thunder of the guns died away into an occasional shot after the rebels galloping back to the distant woods on the ridge from which they had emerged. "It isn't funny, Albin," Dodd said woodenly. "It isn't a game." "Who fill their pockets at Scott's Float, "No—I d?an't say it. I did write 'em. But it's all your fault that I did—so you've no right to miscall me." Alice Jury said nothing, and Reuben began to feel vaguely uncomfortable. What queer eyes she had!—they seemed to bore into him like nails. He suddenly rose to his feet. "Where's master?" "Now, lads, to your homes," cried Turner, as they hurried on, "every man of ye. Go by different roads, and you will not be suspected. There is not a man they can swear to but myself. Now, brave hearts, farewell! We may not meet together again: but all the harm I wish ye is, that Calverley and I may soon meet; and if ever he plagues free man or bond among ye after that, say Wat Turner is a coward—Away! Tom Merritt," said he, drawing the mason aside, "do you think of leaving Winchcombe?—you know there are always busy tongues." HoME美女护士性交不雅照
